I would like to boost the speed and power of my PowerCenterPro 210 with 128MB ram, 4GB scsi, and a 16GB IDE Western Digital connected to a TurboMax card.
right now my PCI slots are all full, with a IXmicro TV card, the ultrawide scsi card that came with my PCP, and a TurboMax IDE card.
i don't have a lot of money to spend. i would like to keep it around $300.
can anyone give me a good recommendation? i have read reports that with some G3 upgrades, you also need to replace the onboard video card with a PCI video card. would this apply to my upgrade attempt?
also, my main interest for a power boost is to allow me to use dreamweaver faster.
Thanks for all your help.

I also have a PowerCenter Pro 210, and I recently upgraded to a G3 366 ZIF card running on XLR8's excellent CarrierZIF. Upgrading was pretty easy. Other Word Computing ( http://www.macsales.com ) offers G3 ZIFs bundled with this card at reasonable prices... I think about $290 for a G3 350. If you want additional information check out http://www.xlr8yourmac.com ... its the best place for upgrade information. Hope this helps!

Bottom Line is also offering good deals on zif based processor cards. Check them out at http://www.bldistribution.com
I bought a non zif Railgun card from them about 18 months ago and have never had a bit of trouble with it.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

The PCP doesn't use a ZIF chip; it can only use one in conjunction with a carrier card, like XLR8's MACh Carrier.

Exactly... like I said I'm using XLR8's CarrierZIF card with an OEM ZIF chip (I believe PowerLogix also makes a ZIF carrier card called the Z-Force).
