Hey all,
I've been thinking about my living situation lately and am thinking about buying a place soon.. If you have any cool shots of your place, post 'em here... I'm interested in seeing interesting habitats...

I don't think this is exactly what you were talking about, but the northern Rockies, Glacier nat'l park, is one of the most beautiful places on earth, IMO. My actual home isn't worth posting.

Does that include Leelu?
And Mac Agent, that house reminds me of Myst Exile, the beggining of the game where you stand in that balcony thing.

Where I used to live, and am gonna move back to. Tiny like you wouldn't believe, but cheap and near the beach though, so I can't complain.
A guy I work with has been showing me pictures of houses/land in Eastern Tenessee. One property was 45 partially cleared acres and a trailer for $24,000! Beatiful! In the mountains! That's where I want to go.

I live *directly* next to this architectural monstrosity... the "Mormon" LDS Temple, in Oakland, California. Talk about a "cold", creepy place. Gives me the chills each time I look at it.

Dude, we should hook up! I'll buy you a coffee at Peets or something.
One more thing people... just because I don't enjoy their fantasy architecture, I hope I don't come off as "anti-LDS". I'm not -- because that wouldn't be wise. They're a very powerful organization... and uh, they know where I live and stuff.
Factoid: Before the temple was built, it used to be called "cow hill" -- as in, cows grazing on a hill. I've seen the old photos, and I can assure you, the view was much better back then. I should scan one of those in.

Where is that pic taken from? I think I recognize the path, but I'm not sure. Is it the one that leads up from Lawrence Hall, along Grizzly Peak, Past that newer building, and off into Tilden?

Yup. My wife (and many of her relatives) went to UCSB. I've only driven through it on a motorcycle in the middle of the night so I didn't get to enjoy the sun and sand.

another person here familiar with (and not exceptionally fond of ) the mormon temple in Oakland.
today, a digital camera came into my life . i took a few pictures of my computer setup. they're here. the second one has a nice shot of my neighbour's house
let's see whether badpenguin allows hotlinking. if not, just click the link above.
well, it's cool that badpenguin allows it, but the pic really is way too huge to put in a ubb thread. so i've taken the link out. when the whether is right i'll take some nice pics and post 'em.
tomorrow i'll take some real shots of my nieghbourhood, or the awesome view of the Golden Gate, depending on weather .

i originally come from bremen, germany (probably seen that on the label of beck's beer bottles).
last week, i took a picture of the cathedral: http://www.uni-hildesheim.de/~skra0063/fotos/dom1.jpg
it was built in 1042 and is 99 meters (about 300 feet) high.
i like it...

Sorry, no, wrong side of the bay. The bridge you see is the San Mateo Bridge. The picture was taken from a fireroad in Hillsborough, overlooking San Mateo and the rest of the bay.
The large estate in the foreground (stone building) is the Tobin Clark Estate.
And that's just about all that is notable about the pic.

Well, I live in Glasgow, the friendliest place on earth to anyone who isn't an arsehole! The weather isn't great all the time, but it's absolutely gorgeous, not as expensive as Edinburgh, and can be dead good if you're young at heart.
We're twinned with Nuremberg (Germany), Rostov-on-Don (Russia), and Dalian (China) - and are currently talking about twinning with Havana (Cuba).
Enjoy!

woo...giving me free reign to talk about my hometown, that can be a scary proposition. for y'alls sake, i managed to narrow it down to a few pictures, although there's a hundred more i'd love to show. unfortunately i don't live in fairhope often, being at school in savannah (somewhere i'll post pictures of if it actually ever steals my heart...not likely) but it's still my favorite place to be in the whole world.
Fairhope Ave and Section St., the main crossroads of town.
I helped build this park.
the city pier, one of my favorite spots in town.
esac, where my "art career" began
the marina. our boat, the mcgee, is down in the lower left corner.

Ireland and Spain are in the Southern Hemisphere?
Thanks for pointing that out. They teach you sod all about geography here in Australia. I thought Spain was in Europe.
That looks like Rio De Janiero to me, but then I know close to nothing.
Perth's the most isolated capital city in the world and we have ADSL. That suits me just fine.
