I am SOOOOOO tempted to put the wife's iMac DV SE 500 on e-bay and order a new Orb based iMac for her.....

If she only did something other than e-mail on the darn thing ....

Usually I would say go Pro Pro Pro

but after seeing one this weekend, I'd sell my left arm for a Superdrive equiped iMac

The day of the announcement, local AppleCenters here dropped the 600 MHz model from $2895 to $2195. Awesome saving, so we grabbed one of those.

The price of the new iMac is ridiculous. Not for what it is, but for what it is supposed to be.

It still doesn't compare to a pro model, but it costs as much as a pro model should.

I think that is specific to your region man, sorry. Here unless you desperately need PCI slots no powermac is worth it save the dual 800. Even then is the price worth it? Its' up to every buyer to decided upon what they need of course....
