In a realm beyond site, the sky shines gold, not blue, there the Triforce's might makes mortal dreams come true.

The folks who say an iMac ad has to throw tons of specs at the viewer don't have a clue how advertising works.

Firstly, assuming you could cram all the "why you should buy a Mac" reasons into a 30-second spot, most folks won't remember any of them. All they'll remember is thirty seconds of geek talk, which is a turn-off.

Secondly, advertising rarely convinces anyone to buy anything on the spur-of-the-moment (unless you count small-price items like chewing gum). All an ad can really do is get people's attention and make them consider your product when they're shopping for something -- it's not going to push anyone over the edge. The final sale is made in the stores, but it's the ads that get them into the stores to ask in the first place.

The Pixar commercials (and I'll be really surprised if they don't get air time) are great. The "Superdrive" one is a bit short IMO, but they're both funny, eye-catching, and memorable.

Those looking for a talking-head tech-sell obviously never worked in marketing.

Well.

They are no longer on the TV ads page. The only way to access the short films are on the iMac page. So I guess Apple has decided not to air them.

Think about this. Apple already knows that hardcore Mac fans (like us) will want to buy an iMac; we do not need an ad to tell us these are cool. Therefore, they are probably not going to spend their time and money trying to flaunt their new iMac to people that already know about it. That's why most of us agree that this is a stupid ad, because it wasn't made for us.

THEY WERE NEVER GONNA AIR THEM!

They are just small movies some one made, and since that person works at Pixar, and Steve, hoo is the ceo, saw it he thaught that it would be neat to post them on Apples site.
