Steve Jobs told an assembly hall full of Apple developers that Jaguar should/would be available for release "Late this Summer".
Was he:
[*]Being conservative expecting it to be available sometime before the end of Summer?

[*]Being optimistic expecting the end of Summer to be the earlist possible date?

[*]Setting an arbitrary date since he has no real idea when it will be ready for release?
[/list=a]

My bet is September 21, just like all of Apple's "late summer" releases.

Apple Expo Paris Sept. 10.-14.! I already ordered my badge! 10.1 would have been released at last year's Apple Expo, but it was cancelled, as we all know!

There is no way that it will be released until the end of September or October. And it will be a hefty upgrade fee as well. I also feel that there are more things that will be in Jaguar that we will see in July.

The last day of summer is 09/21 I believe. My guess is that Jaguar will be released at the expo on 09/10. I'm usually wrong about this type of thing though so don't bet on it

I guess it hasn't been announced yet, but he was there 2 years ago, right?
Anyway, I would really like to go, since I am working all summer and want some vacation when the school starts. Seems like a nice opportunity to get the Expo and travel around in France at the same time (while the weather is still nice..)!

I'll be going down to Apple Expo Paris...
I'd love to meet up.
Yes, Steve Jobs will be there, the Apple Expo Paris Website said there will be a keynote (which you can sign up for from June 16th - you can sign up for the Expo without the keynote right now if you like).

I wouldn't be surprised that 10.2 will come out early than September - simply because Jaguar is looking so good now.
Jaguar has matured a lot faster than I remember for 10.0 and 10.1 and for this reason I think that it could be released earlier than expected.
For sure there will be an in depth display of 10.2's capabilities at MWNY and once Apple fixes all the main bugs then they will be probably release it as soon as possible.

You're sure you're speaking of Jaguar, the OS X Preview release that is slower than 10.1 and buggier than 10.0?
With all the bugs they have to fix, if they release it in September it will be a great achievement.

I love when Blythe Danner says "Bees and corn crops do not fall under the rubric of domestic terrorism." Is she going to tell me next that GE wants me to get a mamogram so that they can offer me medical insurance?

Yes, it will definitely be later in the summer (if not fall). its now June 2nd and were only 6 weeks from MWNY .... and still no sign of 10.1.5. Why even bother with 10.1.5 now if Jaguar were right around the corner. Nope, I predict we'll see Jaguar NO SOONER than 2 months after 10.1.5 (and maybe longer).

With the whole eMac for schools thing, and releaseing OS X.2 after september and charging, that would be pretty stupid on apple's part.
Not saying they won't do it, just saying it'd be really stupid.
I think that if they were gona charge for it they'd do it earlier than september or later.
While trying to secure the edu market they'd be pretty dumb to burn em like that, offering OS X.1 right before OS X.2?
and then charging em for it? Apple's gona be practically giving away the eMacs to secure the market so burning the schools with an upgrade won't be to smart.
Unless they offer free upgrades to schools.
