To find out the IP of any server, do this:

Open a Terminal and write

ping theServer

e.g.:

ping www.yahoo.com
ping mail.mac.com

etc.

The IP will then be shown and you can quit the Terminal

It's simple. Open terminal and type use either nslookup or dig.

%nslookup mail.mac.com
%nslookup smtp.mac.com

or

%dig mail.mac.com
%dig smtp.mac.com
