Great restoration Face Ache. That purple background was taking it a bit too far though

Eh, not bad. I did these while she waited and charged her $30. Took about 40 minutes. I probably ripped her off, I think they look like crap. But, she needed them fast and was very happy with the results.

Still, people can't expect to get something for nothing. Sure, pros can charge more, but they do better work.

I'm only doing these for my own amusement. People get paid to photoshop huh?

I cobbled this together from a photo of a skull as well as photos of a camera lens (eyes), chrome taps (the teeth), a pen, a metal bowl, a travel mug, copper pipes, springs, etc... and a few textures. The lips are air-conditioning duct.

My son insisted on the antennae.

I've never experimented with converting B&W to color, so here's my first ever attempt:

Not horrible, but nothing like Face Ache's second shot -- that's just amazing.

Thanks! I kept it desaturated to make it seem like the color had faded and stuff.

That's the liposuction brush.

Naw, actually he was working in the "liquify" filter window. It's a powerful distort filter, but dangerous in over enthusiastic hands.

I'll try to find some of my junk and share it, too, pyo.

No birds, less vignetting, more contrast.

My sister just got a digital camera (all I have is a 1MP HP POS from years and years ago) so I've only been able to take a few pictures worthy of working with.

Yeah. I added a new layer, gaussian blurred it, added a mask to that layer, and painted over the part I wanted in focus with a 400px fuzzy brush.

I'm not a big fan of the effect to begin with but its so egregious its ridiculous.

Tone down whatever you did with the colors too.

I didn't reduce the saturation as much before upping the contrast. I took some of the saturation out now.

Here's a write-up I posted on my blog a long time ago:

Another Dadgum Stinking Blog: My Cross-Processing Technique

I use this in an Action. PS CS3 has something similar in the Curves dialog, but I like mine better.
