WindowshadeX from unsanity.org allows you to "minimize in place" any of your windows...

That's very interesting Gerrit. But doesn't that font drive you mad? It gave me a headache just looking at the screenshot...

nice screeny Gerrit, its simple and nice...i tried to use the void theme but i think it is only for Tiger, because when I try it , it just shows a colored apple in the top corner instead of a white square shape.

Thanks sweetymac.
VOID is Tiger only indeed. The colored apple is sitting in the blue system appearance - switch to graphite and you'll see the white square.

Interesting. Perhaps color the dock arrows ? What's the 1 pixel white line running at the left side ?

The 1 pixel line on the left is the 'finder'. Still not sure about having it seperated. might take out the 'blank app'
I only know what they do when I mouse over them, apart from that, I have got a pretty good idea where the apps are on the dock.

He's talking about the line along the left side. It's a solid white line running 70% of the side.

It's unique I'll give you that. One thing bugs me, that's the folders in the Dock. They just stand out.

I know what u mean! Ive been trying loads of different folders, but none seem to fit properly. I might have to make my own.

The appreciation of the folders IMHO depends on the rest of the GUI.
But even without that, I must say I rather like these folders - in fact one of the very few times I actually do like them in perspective.
If you prefer a rather independant Dock look, perhaps consider geometric shapes - a small diamond perhaps ?
The double line at the right = filled trash ? And empty trash = single line ?

Yeah, little diamonds or triangles or squares would work well. You could even keep the line and put a different arrangement of the shapes depending on the folder.
