Is anyone else running mlmac on an airport/airport extreme network? if so, do you notice that your network loses stability the longer you have mlmac running?
is this the case for any mldonkey client?

Yup. After a few hours I have to physically restart the BaseStation.

Airport extreme here and no problems at all. I've been running mlmac for weeks. I think you may have a common airport problem - check apple's airport support forum.

Meh, it only happens when running mlMac. It's not really a huge problem, but I do think it's one that's limited to mlMac.

Can we look forward to a single window interface like all the other clients?

That problem with losing your internet connection IS from mldonkey.

It happens with some routers too (such as my belkin 4 port)

It is because MLDonkey opens so many connections and "overloads" your router / base station.

Its vary annoying. I have to connect just to my cable modem if I ever use mlDonkey.

Hmm that is good news! Will it have support for more networks such as Open Nap? I really find it difficult to use that 2get program, or the official Java version.

It's not up to me to support networks. mlMac is just a GUI, and thus supports the same networks as its daemon, mldonkey (aka mlnet).
I've got some bad news though.. My HD is broken, it's not detected by my powerbook anymore. I hope I won't loose everything I had on it (including mlMac)..

mlMac installs the mlnet daemon in the Application Support folder.

Other than you state in your documentation some people DO worry about what's happening on their computer and you might want to provide the information necessary to deinstall your software or have it tell what's going on or put an installation log somewhere.

I know, but even then you could care a bit about what happens. That your app connects to somewhere without telling what's going on and up- or downloads something is a bad style and what usually a virus does and on Windows machines it would ring the alarm bells of a dozen firewalls and virus watchers. And then there I don't see the reason why you are not putting all stuff together, let the user download it and install the stuff from there.

Perhaps I'm not following. WHat did you mean in this bit? That he bundles the correct daemon and then tells the user to install it themself? if so, that kind of defeats the purpose of this app. The idea behind mlMac was to simplify the process into one quick procedure.

Keep up the good work developer dude.

Uh, it said what was installed, mldonkey.

This is a GUI for mldonkey, did you not read that?

... that he bundles the correct daemon and the install routine copies it to the proper place rather than downloading it without telling what happens. Very simple, other do it that way.

Hi all,

Just to let you know I'm still working hard on 0.7. I wish I could release it for Apple Expo (where I'll be)
Here is a little screenshot of my latest build :

I know that's not too much, but I like my new network status view
Off course there're many many more new/improved features in 0.7. I hope you'll like this release.

Im intersted to see how he pulls off using the Direct Connect network, as there is not really one central hub of which to search, but hotline esque communities that force you to share...

Anyone else having problems with mldonkey these past few days? The mlnet binary only runs for 10 minutes before dying. It still appears in top, but seems inactive.

I've deleted it and the associated files and reinstalled it. But it still dies on me.

before launghing mlMac open Terminal and type this:

sudo killall mlMac

Enter your admin password and it will kill the previous mlMac process that makes the new session to die.
This is how I got it work for me... it would be nice if mlMac would do this automatically on launch.... or something...

It may, but it won't be coming to the mac anytime soon. Check my thread on dcgui, it will search all public hubs and it is on osx now.
