Alright, so it looks like Wednesday and Thursday are out. I imagine tonight might be too little notice. Tuesday at 10? I imagine we'll be able to blow through the first 2 - 4 campaign levels the first night depending how rusty we are. From there on out I imagine things will slow considerably.

Q. How do I get the Mythic Map Pack?

A. The only sure fire way to find yourself amongst the early rounds of Mythic Map Pack players is to purchase your very own copy of the Limited Edition flavor of Halo Wars, developed by Ensemble Studios. It’ll be available in the U.S. on March 3rd, and a few days earlier in Europe and Japan. You want a Golden Ticket? This is it. If not, skip down to the next question.

Q. Can’t I just pick it up on Marketplace as DLC in exchange for my hard-earned monies?

A. Sure. You'll just to have to wait a little while. We don’t have any date or pricing information for you yet, but we can say that the Mythic Map Pack, which includes Assembly, Orbital, and Sandbox, will ultimately make its way to the Xbox Live Marketplace as a standalone purchase. As soon as we have more details, we'll spill the beans. No need to continue the digital interrogation.

It really doesn't matter. I have both shows set to record on my DVR. We can have a meetup on Thursday if need be.

That's the one achievement I REALLY want.

Maybe we should should play a few warmup matches before we start campaign. Nades & Spades on Guardian or better yet... Rockets on Narrows. There's nothing more fun than tagging someone with a rocket after you have launched off the man cannon.

I thought I did pretty well on our warmup match in Cold Storage. 15 kills by plasma grenade (10 of them sticks). For some stupid reason, I kept pressing LT to meelee. (This did help me score a few grenade kills from the grave.)

It seemed as the night went on my skills got worse.

1st big team match on Avalanche:
17 kills (most on the team) K/D = +2

2nd big team match on Standoff:
10 kills K/D = -15 (yikes!)

3rd big team match on Sand Trap:
6 kills K/D = I don't remember but I'm sure it was in the negative.

Oh... and it seemed like we had more *********s on our team in the later matches. In Sandtrap I run straight for the Warthog. Someone finally jumps in back as the gunner after I honk the horn for like 30 secs. I drive off and there's like 3 guys from the other team right in front of us in the distance. I'm thinking... right on, 3 wheelmen. We get a little closer and I notice that my gunner isn't firing the gun yet. I yell on the mic, "Right in front of us!" The douche just sits there and does nothing.

Needless to say we got our asses handed to us. I tried to splatter the dude with the laser but was a half second too late.

It was weird going from L4D to Halo last night. The speed and jumping in two games are on opposite sides of the spectrum.

I think I actually caught that scene. I was blasting laser guy with my BR for what little I was worth.

Out of curiosity, does anyone here have any interest in Halo Wars? If it weren't for the Mythic Maps I wouldn't have ever given it a thought.

Yeah, some matches are like that. Other matches, are like WOW, I didn't even get to kill anyone because my team killed the other team so fast. On average, though, I think I've had more good games.

And I REALLY REALLY hate Sandtrap, as a map, especially heavy, with all the lasers it's almost a death sentence using any of the tanks or other vehicles, and Sandtrap is just too open.

Meh, I've never been in the RTS that much, Command and Conquer is fun though. But in these real time RTS's it seems there is too much happening too fast sometimes.

I actually have been getting more and more interested as the release and demo approach, I haven't actively played an RTS for a good 7/8 years (Starcraft & Age Of Empires) so pending reviews it could be a purchase (having some friends with it could also be helpful)

Not I. I do like RTS all right, but on a console? That's only one step below an Infocom-style text adventure on the "never EVER bring this to Xbox" scale.

Also, I trust Bungie implicitly, but I have no idea who these people are and it gives me a feeling like they're just leeching off the Halo license.

My idea: Double-duty your car as a Taxi, in fact set it up like Cash Cab, only you rob the customers instead.

the Austrialian Xbox Blog mentions the Mythic maps will cost 800 with an XBLM release on March 3rd

GTA DLC in a week or two, Halo in a month.
