That sucks. I had back to back double kills when I was playing free for all the other night. Had kill #3 happened a second sooner, I would of had my overkill achievement.

Sorry stogie, but I'm going to have to back out for today.
The g/f is coming over to give me a haircut (if you knew how long my hair is right now you'd understand) and then we're both heading to Rhode Island for the day.

Spent 2 more hours... no mythic map, no achievement. It figures Stogie would get it first, he's luckier than... ... well he's lucky.
I think I'm going to send you guys friend invites tomorrow so I can at least keep an eye on you guys. I only have 2 guys on my friend list.

Screw that double exp playlist. I partied up with a bunch of people that had the Mythic map pack and we went straight to the Rumble Pit. We would veto or exit out of a game until we hit a zombie game type on a Mythic map. After about 25 tries we finally got one.

They need to split the Double EXP Weekend Playlist into 2. One for people with the mythic maps and one for those that don't have the mythic maps.
I hate people that can't spend a measly 800 points on a good expansion. Heck I spent 800 on the Mythic map pack, and 800 points on the Saints Row 2 Ultor Exposed expansion. I'll probably spend points on Fable 2 in awhile.

W00tacular!!
I think this means I'm done with Halo 3 for a while. Time to concentrate on my Gears of War 2 & Burnout Paradise achievements... that is until Ghostbusters is released.

Bungie Betas Render-To-Video Feature For Halo 3
First announced in October of last year, the render-to-video service does just what it says. It takes the game data and creates an actual, downloadable video from it. Bungie has wired together a number of rendering systems, lovingly referred to as the Hydra Contraption, which are dedicated to creating such videos for paying customers of their Bungie Pro storage service.
Of course video rendering and file storage aren't free.
On top of the cost of maintaining a Bungie Pro account, those wishing to use the Render-To-Video Feature will have to pay for their files using Bungie Points. Prices and availability are still being determined, but they are leaning towards giving Bungie Pro subscribers a set number of points per month, with high-definition videos costing more to process than standard definition, which certainly makes sense. Users who wish to upload more than their standard point allocation will be able to purchase "point packs".
It's nice, but I doubt any of care enough to pay for this now like we might have a year ago.

So are Bungie points the same as MS points? These stupid point systems are confusing and never benefit the customer. No thanks.

There may be some good news for Halo achievement hunters. This weekend is Living Dead double EXP weekend, AAAANNNNNNDDDD..... it looks like it requires the new Mythic Map Pack. So maybe this time we can get the Delicious Brains and Zombie Repeller Achievement.

Alright!!! Got my 2 achievements in the first hour and a half of play. Got 3 Mythic maps in that time, some idiots vetoed the first Mythic map that came up, on the second Mythic map I got 1 achievement, got the second achievement on the third Mythic map.

Good job Leonard.
Last night I was playing with the same group of people that helped me get the Annual achievement. It was custom map night and all the maps these guys had were awesome. My three favorites are listed below.
1. BasketBomb - It's just like Griftball but you need to dunk the bomb in order to score. Watch out for those guys guarding the basket.
2. Tower War - I've never liked the territories game type (I veto that **** whenever I can.) That is until I played territories on this map. One team starts at the bottom and the other at the top. They both meet in the middle to secure the #3 flag. The action is fast and intense.
Plus a Stogie-Rama™ of all the action.
and finally....
3. Bumper Cars! - You got 5 platforms way up in the skybox. Your goal is to try and bump the other vehicles off the edge. Try not to get knocked off your vehicle because you move super slow on foot. The map we played this on was awesome. The map is barren at the beginning of the round until gravity lifts spawn at the four corners of the center platform. Moments later gravity lifts spawn on the ramps leading to the other platforms. Everyone in the middle is trapped. Four more gravity lifts spawn in the center until the Death Ball appears. I had loads of fun with this map and posted a couple of videos below.
Here's a good shot of all the action. You can really live or die by those gravity lifts.
Bumper Cars 1
Here's a shot of the Death Ball I mentioned earlier.
Bumper Cars 2

Halo: Reach is suppose to be a prequel to the original Halo. Did you get to see the demo of ODST at Microsoft's press conference? I digging the new silent weapons (love that pistol) and night vision visor.

The dude on stage mentioned a new co-op mode in ODST. I hope Bungie gives us more details on this real soon.

I hope not. There were a bunch of ODSTs that were dropped at the beginning of the demo. You also get to play as other ODSTs during flashbacks.

I advise everyone to check out the project page for ODST. There's so much more info! The firefight mode briefly mentioned in the update has a lot more info.
"Drop feet first into a new way to play Halo with the cooperative campaign mode, Firefight. Form a squad of your friends over System Link or Xbox LIVE and put your skills to the ultimate test against the invading Covenant war machine for glory, high scores, and achievements. Do battle in multiple environments, on foot or in vehicles, and against increasingly difficult waves of Covenant attackers while Halo 3's skull modifiers progressively activate to up the ante.
After the Firefight, relive and review every last kill you earned and see how your high scores and stats stack up against your friends' and the community overall using Bungie.net's persistent online stats and Firefight leaderboards."
Horde on Halo anyone?
The extended trailer on this page has some Firefight footage.

L4D the other night with Dakar and Stogie (which was damn fun BTW) made me realize just how many games I own that are awesome, but I don't play them as much as I should.
The Double EXP weekend playlist would appear to be Rocket Race, something I haven't played in a looooong time, and I was wondering if any of you jerks are up for dusting off the H3 disc tonight and joining Fatty for some RR?
I'll be on around 10:30-11 EST.

Sorry Stog, I was considering waiting a few more minutes for ya, but I was pretty damn tired last night.
One race of the evening had me sans-partner on Sandtrap, so I parked myself at a single checkpoint and ended up tying for 2nd.
I'll be racing tonight probably, if you're around.

So while I'm waiting to play Halo 3 ODST, when do we get a chance to find those last few skulls in Halo 3? When I last looked at the Halo 3 achievement list, the last few were still not available.

Small team, one year, $60: behind the scenes with Halo ODST - Ars Technica
Ars Technica sits down with Joseph Staten, the Creative Director of Halo 3: ODST, to find out how the game was created in such a short amount of time, and why the game's voice talent may seem like a reunion show for one of the best-loved science fiction series ever canceled.
---
Posted because I like to bitch:
Since you're no longer a Spartan, there will be no regenerating health, no dual-wielding.
I was really hoping the gay super jump would be gone, but in the horde mode videos I saw it looked like it was intact. Apparently jumping 20 ft into the air is easy for normal marines –– but holding two weapons, one in each hand –– too difficult!
