Alright, and I'm awake for the time being? Shall we unite sek, bogues and I, and get murdered in some multi?

I will be really surprised if GOW multi stays on top past the new year. It's amazing how rife with quitters it is compared to Halo and it's much easier quitting option.

Yeah, quitting has been pretty rampant so far.
In other news Dakar can totally school me at this game.

not true. We haven't played against each other.
(Though matchmaking is so bad I'm seriously considering having us play against bots next time...)

Not that I condone quitting, but I can honestly say that the MP system is broken.
I feel like the tweak to the shotgun was needed. It adds a hint of strategy to using it effectively.
Yet, I have lost count of how many times someone is approaching me, I aim with the shot gun, unload, and they chainsaw me. For the most part, I am not seeing a way to stop the saw, and it is infuriating to say the least. You'll probably catch me on GOW1 MP tonight.

I just don't get the aiming/distance with the shotty. As for the saw, it seems to fire inconsistently or slowly when I'm trying to tie up a dude about to attack me.

I'll take what I can get, baby.

I think I failed somewhere around 25.
Usually you know the end is nigh when you start having trouble finishing rounds with all team members alive, but Sunday we were cruising and then got wiped suddenly at level 22. I think the problem was we were all out of position from chasing stragglers the previous round.

That's the odd thing, my team was steamrolling all the way until 27. Then we got completely overrun and the entire team died within a minute of each other.

This game is awful. I just had a match of Guardian where after a while it'd start spawning you in the opposite camp -- regardless if people were still there or not.
In the final round this happened, and one enemy grabbed a meatshield -- and then became impossible to buzzsaw even though there were two of us and we were getting behind him. (He then killed about 4 of us in a row, as we continued to spawn in that spot for no good reason) Seriously, at the very least sawing a guy with a meatshield should tie me up sawing the meatshield.
Turrible, jus turrible.

Finally finished my first campaign play through on hardcore (anyone up for some insane co-op at some point?) and my final impressions are this...
1.Awesome
2.Epic
3.Double Awesome
4.Impressive
5.Final boss is a 'cool' story but...lame
6.After the credits = Gears 3.... hurry epic!
Also got to jump in with mid match of horde with sek, i think i jumped in (w/ my roommate on the same tv) at 35 or so and played up to 45 (maybe 44) but i had to leave due to plans with the girlfriend. But even without my mic (which i left at home in the burg) it was a great time, i really do love Horde, its such a simple idea but it works so well with gears.

Wait, when was this? I was keeping an eye on the friends widget most of the night. And you were able to jump into the middle of a game? And you guys got up to level 45?
Who didn't submit their official report?!

It was around 8:30pm PST when I saw that they were on level 39. Their status was "joinable" in my friends list but I kept getting the error message "Server already at capacity" when I tried to join session in progress.

Yeah, I have a hard time believing the population pool is so small it's causing these long waits.
Not to mention it's matched me up with four people, then dumped the search for no reason, or match us up against a group who all outrank us...

If it's so good, MS should buy it and license it to 3rd party developers.
I sure as hell wouldn't give it away if I were bungie.

To be fair, I like the "what's up?" button (lame name), but it should toggle, just like the regular dashboard button does.
I have a feeling we're going to see more "what's up?" buttons in the future, considering the new Dashboard coming next week (finally).

Thats it! i just looked up a video on youtube.
Its awesome because there is a center area that is surrounded by "security" lasers that prevent enemies from walking into close range but they do turn off eventually and sometimes you must manually turn them off to save teammates that wonder around. Best map i've played horde on yet.

You're kidding me, the lasers stay active?
Oh man, that makes things way easier.
Another interesting tip I just picked up: Don't kill the last enemy, let them bleed out. WHile they're dying, run around grabbing ammo.

Well they stay up for long periods of time but eventually they go out for about a minute, when they are up though you can disable them to get ammo, find enemies, and revive your teammates.

I'll be playing this weekend, if I can ever tear myself away from Fallout 3. I like Gears 2 a lot, but it's story is so cliche'd that I find myself playing Fallout more.
But yeah, Saturday Horde action would be great.

I'm a maybe for a mid-Saturday meet-up, since I may be wrecked from Friday night. I'll also need to be out by 5.30 pm at the latest. A Sunday meet-up is better.
