Why? He looks exactly the same there. Is it just because it's now a second group of photos showing the same thing? Anyways, it's looking like that the self-proclaimed Photoshop hoax-busters are full-of-it, as is usual with these things.

I don't think that guy was a troll. Sure, he came across as angry, but that was a room full of developers, and Apple had just killed off a bunch of developer technologies that probably rendered many of their projects moot. There's going to be some anger there. And the guy had a valid point — what the heck does Java have to do with OpenDoc?

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

I'm going out on a limb here and saying that Westboro Baptist will register the domain godhatesapple.com within a few days.

A lot of people feel the need to boycott companies for homosexual-related. Remember the Southern Baptist boycott of Disney for Gay Day (I don't think that was the official term) at Disneyland? Some people will boycott nearly anything if homosexuality is in any way involved.

Of course, that's a slippery slope for them to go down considering they probably have gay people serving them coffee, doing their taxes, or delivering their mail, among many other things.

My Christian views on social issues are traditional, but I don't support boycotts against companies unless they're involved in some drastic, morally contemptuous behavior. That said, I'm not currently boycotting any company except perhaps Taco Bell, and that's because they serve Alpo.

Dad waits for Jobs to iPhone

Steve Jobs' biological father likes to think the Apple didn't fall far from the tree.

Like the son he's never met, Abdulfattah John Jandali, 80, is an executive -- vice president of a Reno casino -- and a workaholic determined to avoid retirement at all costs.

But much to his regret, they have one additional thing in common: Each is unwilling to speak with the other.

"This might sound strange, though, but I am not prepared, even if either of us was on our deathbeds, to pick up the phone to call him," Jandali said.

"Steve will have to do that, as the Syrian pride in me does not want him ever to think I am after his fortune," he said.

For all his accomplishments, the Syrian immigrant says he is overcome with guilt over his treatment of Jobs, 56, and given his son's health woes and decision this week to step down as Apple CEO, fears time is running out.

"Now I just live in hope that, before it is too late, he will reach out to me, because even to have just one coffee with him just once would make me a very happy man," he said.

Sad story. I somehow doubt Steve will call him, but who knows?

I think there must be more to it, because Steve has a close relationship with his sister from that family.

What an asshole. Waiting for Steve to call you? Grow up. You're his father. You take charge and reach out to him. Deadbeat Dad.

Sad. But I can see how years of not communicating built up a wall that can't be easily overcome.

Both, Steve and his dad are full of pride, hurt and uncertainty what might happen if they ever talk.

Indeed. I can only imagine how Steve feels. This is a man who gave him up for adoption, despite his reasons he mentions in the media. In the end, Steve was given up. That has to be hurtful at some level. I don't think Steve has ever forgiven his parents. It did state that they've never seen each other.

Jobs is himself very stubborn and even vengeful... we all know how much of a maniac he is... I'll be surprised if he contacts his father.

If I were Jobs, while the urge would be there to meet my real father, so much time has passed that at this stage I don't think I'd want him around my ailing body. I'd just want to be around the people I really know and trust.

Sorry pops, I think it's too little, too late. You should have done all this when you found out he was your real son.

Exactly what I've been thinking. That same "Syrian pride" his dad talks about is very much present in his son.

So is Steve's biological mother still alive? What's his relationship with her?

Slick shoes?! Are you crazy?!

Look at the context of those photos. It's completely different.
