U.S. President Donald Trump's choice to lead the Labor Department admitted to employing an undocumented immigrant as a house cleaner, the kind of revelation that derailed Cabinet nominees in previous administrations.
Let this sink in. The nominee for labor had employed illegal labor.
President Trump’s nominee to lead the Army abruptly withdrew his name from consideration late Friday night, citing his inability to get around strict Defense Department rules concerning his family businesses.
He had planned to transfer ownership to other family members but turn over operations responsibilities to the team’s vice chairman, but that arrangement did not meet Pentagon requirements, according to sources.
The Pentagon has different, more stringent rules, apparently. That doesn't seem to be too difficult to figure out.

Here I thought you were being sarcastic with your NEA comments, you are serious? Does NEA stand for something aside from National Endowment for the Arts? If not, you mean dancers and artists are behind the scenes manipulating government?
Wha?
Anyway...
That would be the National Education Association.
What are DeVos qualifications? Education? Experience? or does the only issue, skill, or qualification that matters to you, is abortion?
For Sec. of Ed, no. HHS sec. on the other hand, yes. DeVos' main qualification is she frightens the teachers unions. She represents a threat to the "warm fuzzy" education system they have been running for the last 40 years. I'm amazed to watch as Jesse Watters and Jay Leno ask people basic history question and many can't answer them.
That's not a qualification. Qualifications are things like something you put on a resume. Pissing off the NEA does nothing to improve education or schools or funding, etc.

I’m not a big media press access person. I personally don’t need it. I understand it’s important to get the message of what we’re doing out, but I also think there’s only a purpose in getting the message out when there’s something to be done. And so we have a lot of work to do, and when we’re ready to talk about what we’re trying to do, I will be available to talk to people.
Can someone please send a memo to Rex about why the media covers him? He seems to be utterly confused.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson denied reports in South Korean media outlets that he did not dine with the country's officials due to "fatigue" on a leg of his Asia trip, according to an interview published Saturday.
Perhaps this could have been avoided if you had US press traveling with you.
I assume its a way for Trump to look like a tough guy and sound like he's being original and responsible by questioning a long standing arrangement that costs a lot of money. Also when the US intervenes somewhere by themselves, they probably have more freedom to exploit the aftermath for resources, business opportunities and profits than they do when the action is part of a NATO initiative.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....
What, if anything, our govt is doing about it; if we are not doing anything, then what our stance is on it (deplorable suspicious acts of hostile country/commendable testing shows innovations in partner country). Context.
Does that memo answer the populaces "oh sh** do we panic now?" question?
Problem 1: It's vague.
Problem 2: It seems defensive, chip on shoulder, "I already TOLD YOU MOM" bratty.
Problem 3: Why be any of these things? It seems incompetent.
At Saturday’s event, attendee Wang Yun, a Chinese investor, said the Kushner family’s ties to Trump were an obvious part of the project’s appeal.
“Even though this is the project of the son-in-law’s family, of course it is still affiliated,” Wang said.
Journalists were initially seated at the back of the ballroom, but as the presentations got underway, a public-relations representative asked The Washington Post to leave, saying the presence of foreign reporters threatened the “stability” of the event.
At one point, organizers grabbed a reporter’s phone and backpack to try to force that person to leave. Later, as investors started leaving the ballroom, organizers physically surrounded attendees to prevent them from giving interviews.
Asked why reporters were asked to leave, a PR person who declined to identify herself said simply, “This is not the story we want.”
