I'm having an issue with a couple of intel Mac mini's where when users try and save or just working in Illustrator CS 2 it just crashes on them. Has anyone run into this problem and/or come up with a fix for it? I've got all the latest updates for CS2.

Which version of the Mac OS are you running? According to posts on the Abobe forums, there seems to be some reported problems with MacOS 10.4.8 and CS2. Specifically, using the Pathfinder tool in CS2. Others report crashing using other tools.
Some suggest trashing your CS2 preferences and checking your fonts for corrupted files.
One person suggested installing CS1. They claim that cleared-up their CS2 problems.
One thing to remember is that Illustrator is not a universal app. It runs in Rosetta on an Intel Mac. Take that for what it's worth. I seriously doubt Adobe has done much, if any, testing of Illustrator in Rosetta.
Head over to the Adobe User Forums and do a search in the Illustrator/Mac forum for "Intel crash" and see what's up.

Oh Adobe has done plenty of testing in Rosetta. It's wether or not they choose to do anything about it to make it more Rosetta-compatible that's interesting. It seemed to work fine before 10.4.8 which broke the Pathfinder function.

Adobe and their lazy ass Mac support. They don't care about the Mac and the way they treat their customer is apalling. I hope they go out of business soon.

And then what? We all switch to GIMP? I get as frustrated as anyone sometimes with Adobe's "kiss my a$$" attitude, but for them to go away would be a disaster for us, without some other company's suite of products to take Adobe's place, that are as complete and as powerful.

The current situation sucks big time. There is zero competion so Adobe can get away with anything they do or don't do. I certainly won't be buying any Intel Mac until Adobe has ported their creative suite. Maybe it's time Apple starts pumping out more creative apps.

Not sure if links from the Adobe forum work, but: HELP! Pathfinder crashes my Illustrator
I'm also having the same problem with the pathfinder tools and a few other things crashing Illustrator CS2, it's pretty problematic. There are some fixes mentioned, but they didn't work for me.

Same problem here. Very annoying not to have pathfinder functions. Adobe Illustration is useless on my MBP, now.
