In a nutshell: Nobody knows for sure. This is the traditional season when iBooks get updated, but this year the powerbook line is being delayed and the iBooks probably wouldn't be updated until the Powerbooks since the iBooks are already breathing down the Powerbooks' necks in features and speed.
You're gonna get differrent answers from different people. Basically no consensus. If you need an iBook, just get one. They're great machines.
