Hey guys, do any of you have experience creating Kickstarter projects, or monitor Kickstarter fairly regularly? If you do, I'd love to pick your brains a little, please let me know! Some of this may make the most sense to do privately, but it might be cool to post some information to this thread too, for those who might contemplate posting a project to Kickstarter.

Question: Does this project have anything to do with poop?
|
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Modern motorcycles don't have kickstarters.

I've funded a few bands I like on Kickstarter. Five Iron Frenzy, Classic Crime, OC Supertones, recently We Shot the Moon.
I've had a few people say I should try and get money from Kickstarter for my graphic novel. But I think Kickstarter works better to actually fund existing projects that didn't have mainstream success, not the other way around.

I've kicked in a few times. But I think it's now become overused.

Most of the projects seem naieve and I doubt they work. Is there a showcase of successful kickstarter projects? What's their success rate? 0.001%?

That looks pretty cool, if I flew a lot. Raising the height for movie watching would be more ergonomic.

More half baked hype, not the past successes I asked about.

Like this wouldn't sell at least as much as a myriad of other semi-useless iPad accessories currently on the market?

This is why I roll my eyes at Kickstarter.
