Exuse me if I am posting this in the wrong forum, just I automatically come to this forum with everything about pbs.

I have found the nice little chess game on my Tibook, and I have managed to install Quake 3, but I was wondering if there is the equivalent of "shareware" for the Mac? And if so, any good site sthat you would recommend that I go visit.

Thank you.

You mean "freeware", not shareware - shareware you get a cut down version untilyou pay for the complete one

Yeah, EVNova is one of the best shareware games out there. It is worth paying for and it runs great on powerbooks.

For freeware games go to www.download.com and look there. They have a large selection of different games.

My apologies.
I am attempting to "think Mac" and "think PC" at the same time and my brain is on overload. Of course I know the difference between freeware and shareware, and was suffering from a touch of stupidity.

There is a great game posted on Versiontracker.com today called mutant something that has unbelievable graphics and gameplay. You have to configure it to use the keyboard and mouse and to run at fullscreen 1280x854 res for maxiumum effect but WOW it's amazing and I don't even like games that much. No cartoon humans running around with machine guns, more like the cool games of the 80's with cutting edge rendering.

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

I *highly* recommend Maelstrom. It used to be developed by Ambrosia (who you have already been pointed to), but has now been released under the GPL, and even features network play (which I've never tried).

Have fun!

Other than that, just hang out at http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/ ever day, or at http://www.macupdate.com/ and you will see a smattering of games posted.
