That's a long time to be married, especially by today's standards, with rampant divorce and all

discuss...?

It's a funny thing. Some say it's a blink of the eye, others count their marriage is lifetimes.

It's all perspective.

8 years is an accomplishment considering how overly easy it is to get a divorce these days. It's sad how marriage has turned from a commitment to mostly a joke.

I've been with my girlfriend just over 2.5 years and we're planning on marrying after I graduate, but most ppl don't even take the time to know the person before they marry, thus high divorce rates.

I've been with my gf going on 8 years. No plans to get married, not that it means anything to us. I'm amazed it's been that long, doesn't feel like it.

Divorce rates alone don't bug me too much, but it'd be nice if more people put some thought into their relationships before having kids.

Congrats on reaching 8 years!

28 for my parents in August (or is it 29? Crap...don't remember). 50+ for my grandparents before they died.

That's how it always starts out... 3 weeks is still the "LOVE ZONE"... If you can make it on a LONG trip without freaking out, then you know it's golden.

When she is cool with you writing posts on MacNN at 1:00am on a Tuesday in your underwear... that's when you know...

I'm not getting married until I'm at least 30, and the way I eat, I'll never make it to 65!
