Is it waffles or waffle and is it the same as the pig's extension or what I can't get it to work?

Your run of the mill breakfast chain. Good breakfast grub for a decent price.

Actually iHop just purchased applebees - a generic restaurant chain that offers generic american food.

IHOP used to be called International House Of Pancakes, but in the dumbing down of America, they opted for the shorter name so we dumb americans remember a single syllabic word versus a multi-syllabic word.

Here's a short one for you: WTF?

It's perfectly normal to shorten long stuff. Who wants to say Int'l House of Pancakes when they can just use IHOP? NASA, NATO, EU, UN, and on and on and on.

Nicknames become brand names. Nothing new. FedEx, Coke, KFC, BMW, UPS, it has nothing to do with dumb.

I'm glad that the MacNewsNetwork would never use abbreviations.
