I received a 12" iBook today and I have about a million questions (first time Apple owner), but first and foremost, is there a key that's equivalent to the delete key on PC keyboards? The delete key on my iBook acts like the normal backspace key that I'm used to.

To clean the screen and protect the screen from the keyboard when the 'book is closed, I got one of these things. I think any non-linty microfiber cloth would be ok, too.

Oh, and congrats/welcome to the iBook world

Congrats on your new Mac. fn + delete will make it work like a delete button. There are going to be little nuances that will take some getting used to, but keep at it. Once you get used to it, you will never want to go back to Windows!

Also, you can always buy an external USB keyboard.

I know one thing I've found is on the mac I use keyboard shortcuts way more often than on windows. Not entirely sure why that is, but it just feels nicer on the Mac.

Quick question. Where do I get one of those devices that plugs into USB maybe so I can hook up an external monitor to the ibook?

That's the Apple VGA Display Adapter. You can get it at any Apple store, at the online Apple Store, or an Apple reseller, such as one of the magazines (CDW, MacZone, etc.). Apple offers an educational discount of a few dollars to students and teachers.

You'll find some good answers here.

Congratulations too. You'll never regret that decision!
