I'm going to guess you need to reinstall Aperture.

I got a similar error when upgrading from 1.6 to 3.0 and subsequently updating from Tiger to Snow Leopard. I was able to get it to work by simply locating the missing PluginManager from my MacBook (which had been running Aperture 2 on Leopard for ages) and copying it to the Snow Leopard machine.

If you want to give it a go and don’t have the PluginManager available, feel free to try with mine.

Thanks for the file, I had to add a "B" folder but it worked. Any idea why the framework is disappearing?

Not a clue. I assume perhaps the updater is supposed to replace it with a new (?) version, but then for some reason doesn’t.
