Every time I fire up Mail I see this:

Which if true, wouldn't bother me. In reality, the SSL certificate is valid until 2015:

The second screenshot is courtesy of Safari. My first guess is that Mail has cached something somewhere but what is strange is that I've gotten the warning from Mail on 3 separate computers. Most recently on a fresh install of OS X.

I'm a MobileMe subscriber and use the synchronization functionality with my Mail Accounts. That might explain why a fresh install would somehow think that the cert is expired.

Thoughts anyone?

Click on the triangle next to "Trust" (first screenshot).

Then select "trust certificate".

Well, that's a solution, but NOT an explanation.

I've had the same thing happen to me.

Sometimes it's not necessary to understand crazy people or crazy software

Well in this case, I would like to understand what's going wrong. It may actually be some subtle oddity in the configuration of our mail server that needs to be corrected.

Does this certificate regard a mail account on your website?

Contact your host. Has he moved your site to a new server during an upgrade? This would very likely invalidate your certificates, as your email account now sits in a different location.

When you click "trust", you are set again - until the next upgrade.

The SSL configurations for your email server and web server where the OWA app is hosted on are different configurations that could be pointing to different SSL certs, one being expired. You can confirm this by trying to connect to your server using a different mail client. However, since this appears to be an Exchange server and assuming you are not connecting via IMAP, I suppose your options are limited in conducting these tests if you don't have MS Office, unless you want to download the demo of Outlook.
