Does EA ever plan on carbonizing SC3K? I can't run it reliably on my G3 imac with both systems running - have to restart under 9 - and it's about the only reason I'm not "classic-free" yet.

Has Mac been snubbed yet again by EA so they can concentrate on not releasing SC4K for mac?

Seems odd since they updated The Sims

They didn't. Aspyr licensed The Sims from EA to get it to the Mac. They updated the Sims to work in OS X, but SC3000 was ported by EA, back in the time when they cared about the mac. They won't update it.

SimCity was cross-platform basically from its founding. The 1989 version of SimCity (revised C64 version) was released for Mac, PC, and even Amiga.

interesting. I have read many "history's" of Maxis over the years (not ot mention living though it all) and I remember how SimCity started off as a as a bombing game but never once has anyone ever brought up SimCity C64.

The sad part about SC3K was that EA never gave the companty that was doing the job the time it needed to finsh it. it was pulled, cleaned up and put out. I have given up on anything good comming from EA, heck their website is even unfriendly to Macintosh, ever tried to download the add-ons, it been a year and a half they still don't download right.
let's hope that the people at westlake interactive do the port of SimCity 4000 (again if their is one) and EA keeps thier nose out of it.

From what I have seen here <a href="http://simcity.ea.com/simcity4/index.html" target="_blank">http://simcity.ea.com/simcity4/index.html</a>

I don't think anyone will mind if we don't get 3000

IIRC, SimCity 3000 was ported by a Russian porting company, and it was one of the more disappointing ports I'd ever plunked down $50 for. It ran slowly on what was high-end hardware at the time, and crashed quite a bit, in addition to gobbling oodles of RAM. i actually have an old Centris that i use to play SimCity 2000, which is a lot more fun, i think...

But i am undeniably excited about SimCity 4!
