I have been listening to their albums almost non-stop for the past month or so, I just love them.
Anyone else appreciate them more than other artists?
and does anyone know of any similar artists with a similar type of sound?

It seems like Sigur Ros is fairly popular with the Björk crowd. I really like Björk, but I dont' know too much about Sigur Ros. You can preview some Björk right now at daap://68.116.235.23 if you want.

Sigur Ros are very talented and make great music. I recognize that, but they are not my cup of tea. Not enough 80s.
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

I heard Sigur Ros two days ago and could have sworn that it was Radiohead, but not in English . They seem to use the organ a little excessively, but I think the sound of the band is great.

I was playing their music in the home one evening and my wife asked me if it was Pink Floyed.

She doesn't care for Pink Floyd btw.

I have only heard one of their albums and I did enjoy it. Because there's so much music out there I lost track of them.

If thier music is easy to find they should become more popular. I haven't checked if they are in the iTunes store, but that would really help them along.

Hey, at least I tried. But they'll be part of my next CD trade-in.

Sigur Ros is one amazing band.... their latest album, I found, worked wonderfully on incredibly snowy evenings this winter where the weather was absolute sh*t to drive in but made for some great burns nonetheless. Their previous album is a great spring and summer album.

If you'd like some other groups sort of like them, check out Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, or His Name Is Alive. ^_^ Or look up groups that might classify themselves as "shoegaze."

(My fav Sigur Ros song is Svefn-G-Englar. If you haven't heard that, download it or just buy the album!)

Just got 'Aegitus...' funnily enough, the song about 3 or 4 (Viorar? SP?) in with the pedal steel made my head melt, it's exquisite.
