Sorry for standing on your soapbox, but I've been a long-time BOINC user and am wondering how much longer I can keep my beloved G4 crunching. I know that Apple and most software developers abandoned the PowerPC platform about 4 years ago, but I'm sure that there are enough of us out there who still push their PPC Macs around. My G4 Mini (10.5.8) is still my daily user, and I have a Quicksilver PowerMac G4 (10.4.11) out in the 'shack that I use for research and iTunes/Pandora when working on even older (68k) Macs. I also have an old iBook 300 (10.3.9) that gets pulled out every now and then.

I know that some of your team members used to be involved with porting clients and project software to Mac platforms that were not supported by their original creators; are you still involved with that?

I tried to get a list of projects that still support PPC going over at the BOINCstats forums, but nobody else really seemed to bite--at least, in a friendly and constructive way. At the very least, maybe some of you fine folk would help keep track of those few projects that still put out PPC apps? I don't know the ideal location for the list; perhaps on the BOINC wiki?

A lot of developers have moved on from PPC, and Apple has all but cut us out of their photo album, but the BOINC projects seem to be continuing to support PPC for the most part. There are some that did support PPC and their applications page still says they do, but I haven't seen any PPC work from them in a while (Prime Grid) but others are still very good about issuing PPC WUs. Yoyo, Seti, Einstein, Simap, ABC, MilkyWay, WCG…

This is a little old but it's a starting point (thanks zombie67, wherever you may be):
