If so, does getting the phone unlocked open up some of the mac-compatible features that are turned off or limited by cell phone service providers?
Thanks in advance for any info.

The unlocked version that I have does not sync nor allows bluetooth browsing. The itunes software does not come installed but it comes with an audio player.

My slvr is unlocked and decked out w/ goodies. Mine has the slvr iTunes, time and date stamps removed, hacked options turned on etc
I wouldn't say it's brainless easy, it does take some good reading on forums etc to find out what the all the software and etc does and can get quite confusing and frustrating. It is very do-able if you're determined.
If you're interested ,I can look into it for u. Email me about it at [email protected]

I've got an L6 and was able to find drivers to use iSync with it. The only thing that I didn't get working was sending SMS messages from Address Book.
I can't remember if I can browse but I am able to use BT to upload files and install apps.

Thanks for all of the input. I just got a SLVR L6. I turned on the hacked options, installed Salling Clicker, and will upgrade to 10.4.7 in the next day or two in order to sync it with address book, etc.
This is a decent phone and looks like it will do everything that I need it to.
Thanks again!
