I'm surprised that up to this point there has been no official Thor movie thread. Did I miss it or something despite repeated searches? Actually, there was already an official thread, but it's a bit too old to bump.

Thank you for the suggested adjustment Laminar. I've tweaked some of the other ratings upon further contemplation.

6.5/10 reduced to an "out of five" rating would be 3.25/5, so the 3/5 or 3.5/5 star smiley would be the correct way to go.

I give it 3.5/5, it was okay.
WTF is it with Portman in every Hollywood film being made lately? She decide to buy a small country?

Acting aside, looks like the rating a film-based videogame would get.

The story is basically really old, but telling it via a comic book interpretation of Norse mythology pushed into current day should make it a fun watch. And as a blockbuster-positioned film, who is expecting a "deep, meaningful" story anyway? It is on my "go see it" list.

Jesus Christ, was there some epidemic of "unofficial" rogue threads that terrorized the forums some time ago? What the hell is the obsession with the term "official"? Is a movie thread not good enough without the word?
Anyway, just another superhero movie. The larger the market gets, the more obscure or small-time guys they pick (Yeah, yeah, Thor technically isn't small-time in the character sense, but in the popularity sense he was a nobody when I was growing up).

I believe Black Swan was briefly sat on, then that horrible romcom she did purposely released to ride the wave of popularity she had from Black Swan.
