Ladies and gentlmen, I give you Pixel.

Pixel was about 17. Today we had to take him to the vet and have him euthanized; he'd had a massive stroke. We miss him a lot.

So sorry man. I still miss my old friend, Uno.

My sincerest condolences Glenn. I had lost a dog the same way, it was 12 so she had a full life… I am sure you could say that from Pixel.

My condolences. We had to euthanized our 14 year old cat "Three" a few months ago. It was not an easy task.

Sorry for your loss, ghporter. I had a tabby for almost the same amount of time, but it died in my arms.

Sad.. At least it was quick, and he had a good number of years.

Condolences.

Thanks. My wife and I had just finished reading a novel that featured a marmalade tabby by that name. Too bad our cat didn't have blue eyes too!

Thanks to everyone who's posted here. Pixel had been a part of our lives for so very long that it was a very large shock that he might not be there forever.

Pixel was a pet store purchase, but not as a darling little ball of fluff. He was a gawky adolescent young cat who hadn't sold when we saw him at the pet store-marked down! We spent $10 and adopted a wonderfully affectionate friend. When we moved back to Texas, our house had ceiling fans-something he'd never seen before. He slunk along the baseboards for a few days until he got used to them, and even up to very recently, he was cautious about them when I reversed them for the change of seasons. What a character.
