I once had this happen with my iMac. It wasn't the cable pulled, but a power-outage.

Didn't come on for a while, and after a while it did.

Can't imagine you fed your mini up. It's probably just pouting.

PS: I'm using an APC battery pack against power outages. It's also harder to pull a plug accidentally from such a heavy box than from a wall outlet.

Reinstall the system using archive & install from the install disk.

Your OS X installation is hosed, but your data is in all likelihood ok. Do an archive & install and things should be back to normal.

<moderator speak>Oh, and please don't choose such a noisy, undescriptive title. </moderator speak>

Thanks guys... for some reason last night in my 'OMG WFT' panic couldnt find the archive and install option!

So if i an do archive and install is the absolutely NO chance it will wipe the data in the user folder etc?

(ps... sorry this was started in the wrong forum.... and sorry about the noisy title... i just soiled myself thats all!!!)

A&I should not touch user data. Beware though that just because a user account doesn't appear to exist, does by itself not mean the user data isn't still on the drive.

In the very worst case you should be able to use Migration Assistant to copy back user data from your TM drive or from a backup clone (if you made one).
