What kind of gift do you get for a wealthy baby?

One of my close friends/mentor had a fifth child a few months ago. My friend and his wife have opened their home to me so generously on numerous occasions; I'd like to show how much they and their children mean to me with a gift for their newest daughter. I tried looking for one before but I got stuck.
The problem is, this is a pretty wealthy family (top 5% I'd say), so I'm worried any gift I pick would be low-end compared to what they already can afford to give their kids or just generally not in line with their standards. I know that they would appreciate the gesture regardless, but I'd like to get something impressive. What are some good high-end baby gifts, and how much should I consider spending on them? Religious (Jewish, obviously) gift ideas are very good if you have them, but not the only possibility.

It's nice of you to think of them. Maybe something they can't find at TRU/FAO. Handmade wooden toys or clothes. The gift of babysitting always goes over well! If they are very jewish, maybe you could buy a tree in israel in the baby's name?
Craft fairs are usually a fall thing but maybe there are christmas fairs around?

Thank you andi, I actually had a feeling you'd have good ideas for me.
Edit: Originally, I briefly thought about tree planting in Israel, but I dismissed it at first since it's a go-to gift that many resort to and which some recipients don't appreciate as a result. But after you mentioned it, I read up on it a bit and I think you may have really solved my problem!

If this is their 5th kid they probably already have everything they could possibly need for a baby.
I'd just go for something simple like a cute baby outfit or something.

Special gifts aren't necessarily about spending huge sums of money. Any f***wit can write a cheque when they have the money already. If you want it to be special, you just have to think of something they wouldn't have thought of. The tree is absolutely along the right lines.
What about some kind of kit to make handprints or footprints with? Thats the sort of thing you want. A piece of plaster is worthless in terms of $ but they might treasure it for years. In fact, its the sort of thing you could make yourself which makes it even more special. Only you know whether its up their street or not or whether they are likely to have such a thing already, but you get the idea I'm sure.

But if I were to get a baby a special gift I would probably get something like the lunar or dreaming series of gold The Perth Mint :: Gold Coins : Discover Australia The Dreaming Series: Gold. Someone saved up a lot to get me a gold coin when I was born; it was my baby gift or whatever; and I still have it to this day. You could think of it as a clever way of giving cash, but it's something they can appreciate when they get older, it gains value, and can convert to cash if they ever really need to.
When I was a kid I never really got into toys. Maybe you can get them a pet white tiger, they're pretty pacified compared to other big cats and extinct in the wild; a pet for a prince; I would have been into that if anyone had ever gotten me one. I think I had to settle for a dog or a turtle.

I was considering this question earlier, and also came to the same conclusion that gold would be a good gift.
Just leave out the frankincense and myrrh.

What do you mean by high-end? Do you mean like an anal thermometer thats digital AND has wi-fi? We've got one that beeps, but the kids don't appreciate it that much.

You missed a few key aspects that might give us better ideas. 5% vs 1% is actually a huge difference, more a important difference than 10% vs 5%. So, if they are strictly outside the 1% (you can check in Zillow), you will have no problem finding something at Target.
Also, can't choose gifts without knowing the gender, age of the baby, and what occasion merits the present. You made it clear it is not birthday or Christmas.
