I'm new to this forum, and posted a question about RAM below. Then read this sticky. Does anyone know what the speed of FSB is in my new Macbook Pro? [email protected]. Trying to find best 2X8=16MB RAM.

The FSB is gone, but the memory speed you want is 1600Mhz.

Replace original configuration in MacBook 13” Mid 2010 -Unibody- 2Gb Ram (1Gb+1Gb).
Now:
9 Gb Ram
1 SODIMM 8Gb -1066 Mhz PC3-8500 DDR3 + 1 SODIMM 1Gb -1066 Mhz PC3-8500 DDR3 = 9Gb

I just did *exactly* this. I bought a 1600 mhz 8GB chip and the MB13/2010 didn't like it, so I put that into a Mac Mini and took an 8GB stick from the Mac Mini (assumedly a 1333 mhz) and put it in the MB13/2010. Success!
This 2.4 ghz Mac Mini 2010 with 9GB RAM and a 120GB SSD is *still*, even 5 years after production, a viable, workable machine. Sure, it's a little heavier and bulker than my 2013 MBA13 4/120, but at $200 for the Macbook and $100 for both the 8GB chip and 120GB SSD, the price is hard to beat.

Note to people buying Kingston RAM: when Kingston say not to buy ValueRAM for Apple computers as it may not perform reliably, they mean it.
My 2011 13" MacBook Pro shat the bed in a big and ugly way last month due to running it with ValueRAM (I'd actually purchased regular RAM, but they shipped me the wrong kind).
Since replacing it with the more expensive kind, everything's been fine.
