Can you post some pictures of your powerbook ? I prefer to see powerbooks in real life environment than on the Apple website. And I know I'm not the only one (Don't have yet a powerbook myself)

danbrew: is that a 17" next to the Ti? If it is, It doesn't look anywhere near as large and unwieldy as I'd imagined.
No, it doesn't live on the floor.

It's a 15". You can tell by the keyboard area. The 12" doesn't have any spaces on the left and right

You can't see the big ass MS Natural Pro keyboard sitting on the desk?!?
i guess i should have pointed out what was on the desk.
top bit
SonyEriccson T68i on desk charger
Yaesu FT-90R 2m/70cm transceiver (amateur radio)
1Ghz TiBook
Ye o'l mug with beverage in it.
under the platform are the tweeters for the Cambridge soundworks FPS1000 speaker system
main desk component has a MS Natural Pro and Logitech Pilot mouse
on the floor the black box on the left is a 15amp 13.8vdc power supply (for the radio)
subwoofer for the speaker kit
on the right you have the FireRAID RAID1 box as linked in my sig, with some random AT powersupply under it
and then the rubbish bin!

Would you mind terribly, if possible, putting the iBook (is that the 12"?)
on top, then, side by-side viewpoints?
thanks!

You all seem to be so organized. I have a pile of stuff everywhere. On a side table I have a scanner, an inkjet printer, two firewire drives, a digital camera, a DV-camera, then a load of empty CD-R's and DVD-R's. Then to top it off I have loads of papers, pens and cups of tea (empty) and my mobile phone, iPod and some nail polish. Oh and did I remember to mention the Wacom tablet, some Mac catalogs, a tape messure and my iSight?
ARRRGH!
I need a maid!

looking at bigerfoot's pic, you see how off that first iBook really was.. good apple realized most people don't want to have something on their desk that looks like some play-doo-toy.

Yeah. I want to replace it. I've "just" missed so many eBay bids on a Pro keyboard. I don't like the white keyboards, so I am searching for a black keys version.
The iMac keyboard does everything I need, except Disk eject (and I don't think the Pro keyboards have a function (fn) key, so I won't miss not being able to forward delete).
I had thought of getting the wireles bluetooth keyboard and mouse, but I don't think it would allow me to work with the Cinema display and the PowerBook closed. But then, I like the dual monitors of the PowerBook and the Cinema display. I wish Apple would come out with a black/grey key wireless keyboard and a two button, scroll wheel wireless mouse.

Heh, I have the same keyboard. However, the F12 key acts just like eject key, on Jaguar anyway.
I just think it fits the old iMac perfectly, sizewise.

Doesn't anyone use a Powerbook with a non-Apple LCD?
I'm on the verge of getting a Samsung 213T that I think will complement the 'book nicely.

Yeah, but Fosters in a can is better than no Fosters at all.
And the hat (or the cigars?), well, the hat belonged to Lyndon B Johnson and has been in the family for years. I get a call every few years from the LBJ Library/Museum people down at the University of Texas asking if we'll donate it to the Museum. I'm thinking about it - but it adds a lot of character to the room - and it fits!

Yes - the photo is a little misleading. The read of the Ti is elevated about 1" due to the carrying handle. However, the 17" is really not that much bigger than the 17" - but the 17" is way cool.

My setup:
I've got the Maxtor 160 GB harddrive on the left, JBL Creature Speakers (satellites on either side of the computer, sub up above the computer on the shelf), 17" PowerSlab first gen and an iSight sitting on top of the PB. And a Logitech MX 500 mouse.
I forgot to include my iPod. First gen 5 GB. Viva le Scrollwheel!! I'm sorry...

Hey bkatran, what Video Camera is that? Is that the Sony? I can't tell...
I'm really thinking about getting one of those, either that or a really top end Digital SLR. Course I can't afford either one, so...

I think most Australians would disagree with you there. After all, the advertising says that it's "Australia's Famous Beer". It says nowhere (and quite rightly, too) that it's actually nice to drink
