can safari play .m3u instead of downloading the link?

i'm assuming it's supposed to send the stream to itunes or sommink but it just downloads the link to the desktop and you have to manually launch it, same with .ram files.
ideally i'd like to set up .m3u links to open in the quicktime plug in, i can do it with explorer but can't figure out how in safari, any ideas?
