Im going to get a G5 tower soon and its time to start looking into desks. I want a sleek desk that will match the G5. I'm thinking of some sort of steel/glass combination. Anyone have any suggestions? What desks do current G5 owners have?

I looked at that same desk system when I set-up my home studio. I had a problem with the fact that it had a glass top. That "tink" sound it makes everytime you set somethng down on it reminded me that this thing was breakable. I found myself being extra careful and nervous/gentle at the table. And it's always cold. Give me a wood/composite tabletop anyday.

Sure is a cool looking desk, though.

Opting for functionality over style, I went out and bought an 8-foot kitchen countertop and installed that. Now I have 8 feet of tabletop to spread-out on.

My only complaint is that it gets dirty easily.

Probably no easier than anything else; you just notice it more easily on that surface.

Get something dust-colored! Then you never have to clean it.

Studio RTA makes great desks. You can get them, among other places, at Staples, OfficeMax and I think maybe Kmart. But I have the Futura desk. The A-line looks even better but pricier. I think checking out at officemax website gives you the best deal.

View some pics at www.studiorta.com

I've only got one pic of mine from last year right before I my G5 arrived but it's in there now and looks great.

I always liked these, but can get a bit pricey. They always advertise in the back of MacWorld
