Can I get my ibook fixed in another country?

I have been trying to get my ibook fixed for weeks when I finally got to the store I was told 5 days untill I get it back. Problem is I am going to Tokyo can I get it fixed there?

Not all warranties are global. Desktop Macs only got global warranties recently. Although I have seen warranty repairs go through on 'foreign' desktops before then. But there was definitely an announcement a little while back.

Apple portables have worldwide warranties. That's notebooks and Mac mini's because of their portability.

Apple desktops do not have worldwide warranties. They are warranted by the country of purchase.

Well, this was the case when I worked for Apple a few years ago.
