Micromat has launched the eighth version of its Mac
troubleshooting utility, adding more functionality to the software.
TechTool Pro 8 builds upon the previous version's ability to test core components of the Mac's motherboard, by increasing the array of testable components to include more than 100 electrical and temperature sensors on some Mac systems.
The diagnostic suite also includes a number of improvements to its existing roster of tests, making them more efficient and capable of uncovering more issues than in earlier versions. Extra tests have also been introduced, covering hardware such as cooling fans and batteries.
Support for the latest Mac models has been added to version 8, with it also compatible with Yosemite. TechTool Protogo, a separate product that allowed users to create a bootable device that could perform diagnostic tests on other Mac systems, has been integrated into this latest version, making it simpler for repair shops to service multiple systems quickly.
TechTool Pro 8 is available to buy now for $100. Owners of previous TechTool Pro or TechTool Protogo can acquire an upgrade to the latest version for $40. A business pack of ten licenses is available for $300.
