Universal's Steve Jobs movie will be arriving to Blu-ray, DVD, and digital formats in February of 2016, the studio has said. The film, which fared poorly at the box office but won critical raves and numerous Golden Globe nominations for the lead performers, was written by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) and directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire). The film will become available on the iTunes Store on February 2, followed by a full release on February 16.

The home-media versions will have a few extra features, including commentary by Boyle and Sorkin, along with editor Elliot Graham, and a making-of documentary. Starring Michael Fassbender as Jobs, with Seth Rogan as Steve Wozniak, and Katherine Waterston as Chrisanne Brennan, the mother of Jobs' first child, Lisa. The film took substantial liberties with actual events and sequences, but in the words of early Mac veteran Andy Hertzfeld, told "greater truths" about Jobs' character and how his contributions changed the world. The storyline also spent time chronicling the stormy relationship between Jobs and his daughter Lisa, though in real life the pair reconciled before Jobs' death in 2011.

Hong Kong store at IFC mall gaining third floor

The showcase Apple Store that crosses a roadway in Hong Kong, known as the IFC Apple Store for its location in the International Finance Center, will soon gain a third floor following the completion of renovations. The store, which was the first to open in Hong Kong in 2011, features a sign that lets passerby know that "we're taking things up a level" head of the grand re-opening. The mall overall is a four-story facility, and the Apple Store portion is positioned so that a roadway is going underneath it.

Photos provided to AppleInsider show that construction is nearly complete, with lights now on in the extra floor, and a new separate staircase is being built to provide access. The remodeling in Hong Kong, a Chinese territory, will not count as a new store, part of Apple's vow to have opened a total of 40 retail locations in "greater China" by mid-2016. The 28th store since that promise was made opened last Saturday in Nanning.

Remind me again . . . what is this DVD thing they are talking about for the Steve Jobs hit piece? I vaguely recall seeing something like a round sort of thing. Was that a DVD?
