My DP800 G4 doesn't like CD-RW discs. I put one in, close the tray, and a few seconds later it spits it out. No Finder "What should I do?" dialog, no "invalid media" message, nothing.
It did this before with the stock DVR-A03 2X superdrive and still does it so it must be something in Jaguar.
Has anyone encountered this? Is there a setting I am missing, have turned off, etc.?
I want to use RWs like floppies for transferring data to and fro, but I have yet to find an RW to work.
I have tried two different brands of RWs (one very old generics and now Memorex 16x (ultrahigh speed). Could it be the "Ultra-high speed" is what the drive doesn't like? I just wanna re-write at the max the drive can do.
What am I doing wrong?

Dunno, but RWs work fine for me - tried both the Pioneer RW and Princo ones.

I had the same thing on my Tibook.
I have never been able to burn a CDRW.

Same here on my 933, i always assumed it to be the discs, I only have the two, they're old and I've never really used them, no point really.
