I found a great deal on 1GB of RAM for my DP1.8 - but the manufacturer is GVP. Anyone have any experience with it? I've never heard of them...
Here's the description:
1GB PC3200 (400MHz) non-ECC DDR SDRAM 184-pin DIMM memory upgrade kit (2x512MB)
1GB memory upgrade kit for Apple Power Mac G5 1.8GHz & 2.0GHz Dual. This kit contains (2) 512MB memory modules for required installation in identical pairs.

Never heard of them. How much are they asking for it?
You can find PC3200 512MB RAM for like $80 that will work perfectly fine in a G5.

MacMall.com has it for $179.00 for the pair, but there's a $60 mail-in-rebate from GVP, which makes it very reasonable.

$120 for 1GB is pretty good. If it comes with a warranty, then why not?
OTOH, you can spend a few bucks more and get quality memory such as Corsair, OCZ or GeIL. Up to you whether the increased peace of mind you get from buying a well known brand is worth the few extra bucks.
