just got Halo today.
love it, except for the fact that it quits very often in Campaign mode, mostly when either switching weapons or jumping.
i don't have shaders, they don't seem to be allowed on my system.
this is a rev. A 17-inch powerbook. 1 GB RAM.
i'm playing on low res and no eye candy. it runs nicely when it's not quitting.
i installed the 1.03 and 1.04 updates, with no improvement.
help! or should i just write it off at lack of adequate hardware?

My copy ran fine. Apart from the fact that the level design was the worst I had to endure in my whole life it never quit on me.

Casper,
My friend played it all the way through recently, on the exact same machine you are using.
You might want to ensure your os is totally up to date for the most recent drivers, then re-install the game and see how it is.

i actually decided to try something...
i created a new user account, called Games, and played Halo in that. now it never quits.
i guess there was some conflict with software or preferences associated with my default user account.
great game.
