Geez, what a car.

http://www.howstuffworks.com/bugatti.htm

It's been mentioned several times over the past few years in a couple of threads, but it's now in production, the specs and benchmarks are there, and this article is a worthy read.

The Bugatti Veyron

How would you define the most amazing production car in the world? Would it be:
The car with the most horsepower?
The car with the fastest top speed and acceleration?
The most expensive car?
At the moment, the Bugatti Veyron appears to have it all:

A W-16 engine that can produce 1,001 horsepower
A top speed of 250+ mph (400+ kph)
A zero-to-60 time of three seconds
A zero-to-180 time of 14 seconds
A price tag somewhere in the $1 million range.

In this article, we will take an in-depth look at this amazing automobile and see how it is possible to fit so much performance into a single machine. It all starts with the engine...
...which, at maximum power, burns 1.33 gallons of petrol PER MINUTE.

That, of course, is not really an issue here.

Get yer droolbuckets out.

I think that people who'd spend a million on that monstrously droolworthy toy can afford to lose a million.

Hopefully, they can afford private roads too. I mean, where would you be able to drive at 250mph? Not even Germany has all that many stretches of Autobahn that are free of traffic enough to open it up. Driving a car like that on public roads would be like running with shackles on. Frustrating.

Meh, if I had a spare million for some fast transportation, I'd rather spend it on one of these:

The Piper Meridian. That's droolworthy.

I'm sure it's tax deductible.

Yup, right there with you on that, Simey. Alternatively, I'd go for something like a new lancair 400 or diamond twinstar and have lots of money for hangarage and costs.

If I'm rich enough to spend money on a car like that, I'd rather have a Rolls-Royce Phantom.

It'll handle like crap.

The EB110 was as boring to drive as an Audi and Bugatti have had a new owner since then...

$1 million pricetag and it doesn't even come with a PS2 or original Nintendo installed?

I really really like that car, but then what would you expect from one of the biggest Bugatti nuts in the world ?

You can download some high resolution PR images from the official site...
