I don't believe there's any official way, but a little birdy tells me that the video file is temporarily stored at /tmp/501/TemporaryItems/QTPlugin125546 (where 501 is your UID and the number at the end of QTPlugin is basically random). You'll need to use apple-shift-G in order to get into the /tmp folder, because it's hidden normally.

Check out this page from macosxhints.com
You'll find the Applscript code for a script you can launch directly from iTunes, that will bring up a save dialog for the current music video

Thanks axel and rest, but these scripts from 'macoxhints' no longer works in my itune 4.7.1

Is there any way out? Cheers.

Open the video in the iTMS and makes sure it is fully loaded (the grey bar is full) - leave the Musci Video loaded inthe iTunes window (this is important as otherwise the temp file is deleted).
Go to the Finder and go File>Find (or Command-F) to search.

Search for files with the following criteria:
Date Created - Today
Visibility - Visible & Invisible
Size - Greater Than 10000KB

A file should be found which looks something like this: QTPluginTemp25677587
Drag the file to the desktop (or wherever) and rename it with the .mov extension.
Done.

Or, you could use this nice utility:

Support a charity as you search the Internet - Use GoodSearch - I support Sacred Heart School.

iGetMovies is awesome ... even a very friendly "Thankya" button to press when the movie has been successfully saved.

Along the lines of drive-thru's recommendation, you can also just go directly to the
/private/tmp/501/TemporaryItems/ directory, the file should always be in there and be rather obvious by its size, date, and will be named something like 'QTPluginTemp636486'. Copy to desktop and add a .mov suffix.

* note 1: You cannot browse to this folder directly through the finder as its parent folders are invisible. You can, however simply use the 'Go' menu item in the finder and paste the path above and it will open the correct folder.

**note 2: If you are using the original admin account that you first created, the "501" should work. If you are using another account, you may need to go into Netinfo to find the appropriate corresponding UserID number for the account you're using and substitute that number in place of 501

Thanks Krusty - I forgot that you can get to that folder through 'Go' so I always used 'Find'. Both ways remember your previous criteria/path, so if you use Go or Find for this purpose and nothing else it's really easy - you don't have to keep typing in the criteria/path every time.

Looks like QT 7 has changed the location and name of these temp files. Any guesses as to where it's storing them now? Spotlight sure isn't find it using obvious criteria (created today, >10meg). Tried using the command line find but that'll only work if you know part of the name. Grrr.
