After installing OS X.2.5, my estimated time remaining on a full charge (with InDesign, Safari and Mail open) had increased from around 2:55 to 3:19.

After opening Photoshop, it dipped slightly, but quickly regained its original estimation after the initial processor strain.

Can anyone else verify this?
Am I crazy to think that a minor upgrade could add between 20-30 minuted of battery life?

Just unplugged my 12" and it said 5:18, but as soon as I started posting this it dipped down to 3:46.
The ladder is still more than what it had said in 10.2.4

Plug it in; charge it to 100%; unplug it; and let it run until it's out of juice. Then charge it again.

Oh, and for some people who may not fully understand this - when its out of juice the PowerBook will go to sleep automatically.

BTW, earlier today under 10.2.4 I was got about 2:59, and now with 10.2.5 and the same settings, it says 3:35!

Time to recalibrate again, and see what happens... I guess the fastest way is to open up Medal of Honor.

Wow! Impressive to say the least! I'm a bit weary, however, about updating to 10.2.5 b/c those who jumped right on 10.2.4 suffered some issues like a funked up clock and such...anyone experiencing any backlashes of installing 10.2.5?

WTF! After re-calibrating it, it went back down to 2:05 min! Same type of usage as before. Now I'm mad! I'm going to re-calibrate once again and see if that'll change anything...

Has anyone actually timed how long their computer lasts before the battery runs out before and after the update? It's cool that OS X SAYS it will last longer, but does it really? That time calculation has been known to not be 100% accurate (I'd be impressed if it was). Is there REALLY been an improvement in battery time?

Yea, that's what I did too. The first time however, i didn't let it recharge while it's turned off, or sleep mode since the computer don't really shut down. I started using it while it was at around 70% charged. Bad mistake for me since when it's full, it only showed 2:05 min left on full charge, which was worst. So I did it over again and this time to just let it sit and not use it at all until it's fully charged, I did this overnight. Now it is back to almost 3 hours of battery life, so I'm happy now.
