They are an unreleased (WIP) set by another artist so I removed them due to an NDA. I didn't want anyone to start a gimmee, gimmee thread....the font is one of the gothic types.

Your shadows are... unique. I don't think anyone else noticed. Similar to the way Apple does the grill effect manually in their Powermac photos to make them seem pristine.

The icons are nice but Flash based sites are so fscking annoying I cannot bring myself to spend the time navigating the site.
A note to designers who think they look cool when they make a flash based site:
When your site takes forever to load because of Flash load times or fancy animations and fades I leave. I'm not sitting here on a dual G5 with a fat pipe connected to the internet so I can watch your site fade in and out.

If that's the way you feel about flash sites, then you better stay away from the new Teaser on MMicons.com =)

If people are liking the Asian icons:
Check out ZIPANGU [no flash - just the icons]
the handling of the "Things to draw" series is wonderful.

Flash sites are silly...especially for this kind of stuff...we don't need low quality music to suddenly blast out of our speakers when browsing a site for icons...
bleh! it's rude!

i think he's talking about sites that are entirely in flash, not just a little opening or teaster. i hate all flash sites too, they're dumb.

I think this is probably the wrong site to take your frustrations out on. The Mikwork site loads quickly (especially considering the amount of content) and the small amount of fades only add to the overall presentation of his work. Its actually a consistent treatment with all of the sections, the icons being presented all have subtle interactions and benefit from the transparency support in flash (pngs are the only other format which allow this but the bandwidth issue would only increase and the execution would not be as effective).
Bad flash is just that, and upsets me about the same amount as bad html and javascript (in lieu of trim css and xhtml). Some like http://domineydesign.com/ are able to pull it off quite nicely. A nice presentation done in either flash or xhtml only adds to a designers work.
