OS 9.0.4 and Kensinton Turbomouse Button Freeze

Ever since I've upgraded to the more recent Kensington software from a much older and no longer available version, I've had a bug that happens only every couple hours. It happens when I'm attempting to switch applications by clicking. Usually the application that I am switching to crashes with a Type 2 Error and the buttons on my turbomouse no longer work. I then reboot the computer with the keyboard and it's fine again.
Here's my config: G3/400, OS 9.0.4, Kensington ADB keyboard and ADB Turbo Mouse 5.0, Kensington ver. 5.40
Has anyone had a similar problem that they've solved?
PS - After crash, USB mouse button still works.

I have the same configurations, and yes, 5.4 by Kensington causes many problems. i decided to just not install it until a better and safer version is released.

The latest versions of kensington software don't support ABD mice. You can get earlier versions by going to ftp://ftp.kensington.com/MAC
There they have all their old drivers. I think the one to get is 5.0.4.
I've had no problems since reverting.

Please don't tell that to my Kensington ADB mouse using the 5.40 drivers. Kensington still supports ADB mice.
It's not nice to pass on bad information.

Slightly confused here... You are using an Kensington ADB mouse *and* a USB mouse? Unless I am mistaken this is more likely than not your problem, the mice are fighting each other.

Contrary to an earlier posting, the 5.40 version of the Kensington driver still supports ADB; in fact, if you don't need USB, you can even disable some of the USB-specific Kensington extensions with no problems. On my machine -- a PowerBook G3 (WallStreet) which has no USB at all -- my Kensington 4 button mouse works fine.

I was told by a Kensington tech person about the ftp site and to use the old drivers. I'll leave it up to you to decide what it all means.

Hi a,
I had numerous problems with my kensigton mouse after i upgraded the drivers. THe solution for me was to do a clean install of the drivers, this ment to remove the preperences, and all associated extensions, and then install again...
Hope that helps.

I started using the usb mouse after this started happening, because it works fine after the turbo mouse dies, so that is not the problem.
Thanks for posting the ftp with the old drivers. I'm using them now with no crashes, but time will tell.

I have an Orbit , DVSE, and 9.04. It came with a folder named Mouseworks. Once I trashed that, everything works fine. Hope this helps.
