Hey all. I've got a number of spent laptop batteries here (from a few PowerBooks as well as some IBM and Toshiba machines), and I'm trying to figure out how to properly dispose of them.
I've been scouring the Internet for information on how to recycle them, but have come up totally blank. Anybody have any ideas?

Apple will accept old PB batteries for disposal. Their battery box includes information for return shipment. Can't help you with the others.

I beleive the Shack (radio shack) has a battery recycle service. Just bring it in and they'll stick it in the march-of-dimes'esque box. At least they have this service in the shacks here in Canada.

Radio Schmuck locally took my Duo Type 3 Batteries when they were spent. So it works in the US as well.
Too bad I don't have said Duo 2300c anymore - I miss the light weight

Ah, light weight!
I am impatiently awaiting a new subnotebook from Apple. I would like to get one soon to replace my PowerBook 2400c.

Let's have a 3 lbs sub-PowerBook with AirPort and 5 hour battery life now!

Until we get a 3 lbs sub-PowerBook, the 12-inch PowerBook will do.
