After the whole reuters terrorist photos scandal, bloggers have been scrutinizing pictures from all suspicious news outlets and here's a shocking one from the New York Times. Check out the poor 'dead' 'civilian' in the picture, then look at the other pictures and you'll see the same 'civilian' running around on top of the same rubble where he pretended to be dead. These Jihad morons and terrorist bums are so damn stupid to think that they can fool people who are much smarter and many times more advanced than they are.

All dead people are dry? Or is there a video or succession of photos of sweat coming from his skin?

The 'dead' guy is sweating, because he's the same guy running around on top of the rubble in the other photos. These Hezbollah terrorists need to take some acting classes, they sure do suck at it.

Who said this guy was dead? Who said this guy was hit by a bomb? Looks like a rescuer who just fainted from exhaustion.
That would explain the sweat. That would explain the dirty hands.

Besides, Tyler Hicks is the new American Idol.

Keep spinning. This is the caption for that photo.

Caption: The mayor of Tyre said that in the worst hit areas, bodies were still buried under the rubble, and he appealed to the Israelis to allow government authorities time to pull them out.

Rescue worker who fainted ? LOL, hahahahahaha.

Let me see. NY Times says "Hey, let's not use real dead people who died from the bomb attack. Let's fake the death of one of the recuers and use that instead. Who cares if he is in the other photo putting out fire and digging for people who might have been bury. No one would notice."

If the New York Times ends up firing the photographer, then I'm sure that you can campaign on his behalf and tell them your case. Rescue worker who fainted, LOL.

You are so right. No one has ever fainted from exhaustion. All the recent news about people fainting from the heat wave are all lies from global warming propagandist.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. The poor 'dead' civilian wasn't really playing dead, he just fainted due to global warming and whoever wrote the caption for that photo must have not known about your theory. It's not like anybody else has recently been busted for faking war photos from Lebanon.

Strange, NPR (arguably more "leftist" than the NYT) carried a series of pictures by Tyler Hicks 3 days later that included the very same picture in question. However, the picture was much more believably captioned than in the NYT.
http://www.npr.org/templates/gallery...591698&slide=3
source article
In the NPR slideshow the caption of that very same photo is "After an Israeli airstrike destroyed a building in Tyre, Lebanon, one man helps another who had fallen and was hurt. Cars packed with refugees snaked away from the town. "

Is this a conspiracy by the NYT or is is just plain lazy journalism by their slideshow's editor --- just making up a caption based on what they thought the picture showed ? However you slice it, it appears this ISN'T a dead guy. But ... this doesn't change the reality of bombing and civilian dead in Lebanon. This picture as represented in the NYT is fake ... but in the real world there isn't one fewer dead person in Lebanon because of this picture.
( Last edited by Krusty; Aug 9, 2006 at 12:38 AM. Reason: added source link to NPR article, not just straight to slideshow)

As I thought, it was lazy editing. The caption looked pretty clearly like a general one that the editor assumed applied to that picture, rather than a "A rescuer picks up a totally dead body"-style one written specifically for the photo.

Here's more hilarious war photos. I wouldn't be surprised if the photographers walk around with teddy bears and dolls in their bags along with their lenses and camera equipment.

Agreed.

Nowhere did it claim that the guy was dead, and the caption talked about people under the rubble, this guy was on it. It seems like a generic caption applied to a picture taken. Unless you can prove they claim the guy was dead, then you're being ridiculous.

Here's what the caption said from the original NYT picture frame:

"The Mayor of Tyre said that in the worst hit areas, bodies were still buried under the rubble, and he appealed to the israelis to allow government authorites to pull them out."

**now cue the picture of the fake dead guy being pulled from the rubble**

Now also let me ask you this: how does one simply faint or trip as you put it, and wind up underneath a piece of steel plumbing with a rope wrapped around yourself four times?

Even if the guy wasn't faking it, the NYT was passing the photo off as a "body still buried under the rubble." He was clearly alive in at least three other pictures they used, so it seems unlikely it was just a slip up.

Yes, it has been noted that the caption doesn't apply to the picture (and in fact a different caption was used elsewhere).

I don't follow your thinking. Whether they intentionally tried to make us think the guy was dead or just put the wrong caption on there, they obviously slipped up and failed to notice the guy walking around in all the other pictures.

I don't see where the caption says that the photo is of a dead person. I agree it's the kind of caption I'd expect to see on a photo of the Mayor of Tyre but making out as if the NYT or the photographer were trying to mislead people is rather a desperate attempt to justify not being touched by the images of suffering. It allows people like you to pretend that the civilian impact is not that bad. That you can even be bored or laugh at photographs of carnage and destruction is evidence of how sick your mind is.

You actually believe he fainted, under those pipes, in a lounging position, in a pose that Michelangelo would envy? You're really that naive?
