Tonight I found a bunch of data CDs I made as backup when an old computer was close to crashing, including a bunch of albums that I wanted to add to iTunes. On the last CD, there were four albums. When I went to add them to my library, three of them were added, but one won't seem to load into the library. I tried repeatedly, and then closed and restarted iTunes. Still didn't work. I even tried to add tracks individually, and still nothing.

What the hell?

do you have iTunes set to organize your library? Could it be adding the songs to an untitled artist or untitled album folder in your ~/Library/Music folder?

I do have it set to organize it, but I have no "Untitled Artist" folders, and no such album folders. And no tracks from that album are showing up in "Recently Added". I don't even get any sort of progress bars when I try to add the album.

However, I did remove one of the recently added albums, and then re-add it, and it went through without a single issue (except for iTunes having something completely stupid and incorrect for album art, but that's a different annoyance).

And before the question is asked, I'm not short on storage space. My iTunes library is about 9.6 GB out of 250 GB on a brand new hard drive I just bought the other day.

Have you tried dropping them onto the Purchased field in iTunes library, this should work I recently added music & video that I had on my system into iTunes but just couldn't add them except for dropping them into the Purchased field.

If your info of the albums isn't kept then you can reorganise them after.

What Happens if you copy them over to The hard drive first?
