On the ZunePhone community, you can talk to your friends wirelessly. Three times. Then they have to pay.

But only if your friend also has a ZunePhone. Which uses a new carrier, incompatible with both GSM and CDMA.

On the other hand, it does come in Brown with the green doubleshot. Something to think about.

Cute

but I have read somewhere that to keep up with apple they are looking at producing a phone. Not that I'm nervous about them producing an iPhone killer or anything.

My stupid iPhone game: Nesen Probe, it's rather old, annoying and pointless, but it's free.
Was free. Now it's gone. Never to be seen again.
Off to join its brother and sister apps that could not
keep up with the ever updating iOS. RIP Nesen Probe.

I saw MS make a lot of stores put their Zune stuff in front and more viewable than their iPod stuff lately. But it still doesn't get sold. Only to the clueless that is.

didn't Ballmer say that MS wasn't in the hardware business or something to that effect? I remember watching a clip where he was asked about the iPhone and he dismissed it saying that MS has their software on 150% of smartphones so Apple's entrance into the smartphone market was nothing to worry about...

I think calling it a "Zune"-anything puts an early nail in the coffin. People have been presented with the Zune, and most of them passed on it. The same will be the case with a Zune phone because it already has a lame reputation from the Zune.

Beyond that, what are they going to offer than the iPhone doesn't already do? The only thing I can think of is that they'll attempt to sell it at a significant loss to bring in customers.
